Welcome

Lord's Day Worship: Sundays 9:30

THREE QUICK FACTS ON WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE ARE ABOUT

  •  We are a Bible church.  We believe the Bible is God’s infallible and inerrant Word (2 Tim 3:16), and we are committed to expository preaching (Neh 8:5-8).

  • We are a gospel church.  We believe in the power of God to save sinners by his sovereign grace through our faith in Christ alone (Eph 2:8-9), and we are committed to proclaiming the gospel to the nations (Matt 28:19).

  • We are Reformed in our theology. We believe in the historic biblical faith traditionally known as Reformed Protestantism. We are intentionally theological, believing that God's Word has something to teach us about every aspect of our lives.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON SUNDAY

WHEN?

We meet at 9:30 AM every Lord's Day for worship. We also have Sunday school for all ages immediately following the service at 11:15 AM.

PARKING?

You are free to use our main parking lot at 342 Prospect St. (accessible via Church St.) as well as street parking (meters not enforced during our service), the parking lot at 24 Church St. and the parking lot at the lawyer's office across from our church building (355 Prospect St.). â€‹If stairs are a struggle, there is an elevator at the parking lot entrance.

WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN?

We encourage you to keep your kids in the service. Although we do have a nursery for young children. Nursing mothers are welcome to make use of the mothers' room just to the right of the sanctuary (ask a mother for the code). Additionally, we offer crayons and coloring pages at the back table.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL SERVICE LOOK LIKE?

  • A Call to Worship: This is an invitation to worship the living God in spirit and truth.

  • Congregational Singing: We use a blend of historic and modern music designed to enable the entire congregation to participate.

  • Exhortation and Offering: The exhortation is a brief encouragement from the Scriptures given by one of NHCC elders. At this time, our congregation joins together in professing our faith through the Apostles' Creed. We worship through financial giving following the exhortation. If you are a visitor, we are happy you are joining us and please don't feel obligated to give.

  • Pastoral Prayer: During the pastoral prayer we give thanks for what God has provided, we confess our sin and need of Christ, and we pray for the good of others.

  • The Preaching of the Word:  Our pastor delivers an expository sermon from the Bible, with explanation, theology, and practical application of God's Word.

  • The Lord's Supper, Doxology, and Benediction: Following the sermon, the congregation partakes in the elements of the Lord's Table as an assurance of our redemption and as a proclamation of our allegiance to Christ. We sing the Doxology and a final encouragement is provided from God's Word.

SHOULD I PARTICIPATE IN THE LORD'S SUPPER?

If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, including if you are a member of another church, you are welcome to partake with our congregation. If you are not a Christian, or are if you are unsure, we ask that you observe and speak with the pastor or one of the elders following the service. â€‹â€‹

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?

  • Fresh coffee, tea, water, and snacks are available in the back. â€‹

  • Feel free to stick around and meet people after the service. We’d love to get to know you.
